Y5/6: Trip to Eden Camp, Malton, North Yorkshire – Thursday 15th October 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
As you may be aware, your child’s topic is currently World War II. As part of this topic, the children will be learning about The Blitz, rationing and evacuees.
On Thursday 15th October 2026, Y5/6 children will be visiting Eden Camp in North Yorkshire where they will see immersive displays that bring history to life. There will be opportunities to experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on the Home Front and the Front Line.
On the day, we will be leaving school at 8.15am to arrive at Eden Camp for 10.00am. Your child will need to wear school uniform, warm clothes and suitable footwear as some areas of the camp are outside. They will also need a snack, packed lunch and a drink. There will be an opportunity to visit the museum shop and buy some memorabilia of the day. The children will need no more than £ 5.00 in a named purse/wallet. Children will return to school for 4.00pm.
The cost of this visit is £22.19 which includes admission and transport costs. Please make payments and give consent for your child to go on this trip using Parentpay. If you need to pay by cash, please collect a barcoded letter and a permission slip from the school office asap so that you can pay at one of the local Paypoints.
If your child is entitled to free school meals and would like to order a school packed lunch, please indicate on ParentPay when prompted.
As usual if sufficient voluntary contributions are not received by 9th October this visit will be cancelled.
