Art and Design
Our students, at Reignhead Primary School, will be encouraged to have a curiosity in the world around them through their creative art experiences.
During their time at our school, they will develop their own expertise and creativity in art through a study of art history including different cultures, artists and periods of history. Throughout their school journey, they will build upon the elements of art taught (eg. shape, texture, pattern, line, shade) using a variety of different media and techniques in drawing, painting, printing, collage, 3D design and textiles. Students will learn about portrait, landscape, still life and other ways that elements can be arranged.
Their own personal sketchbook will reflect their study and skills whilst allowing them to make notes, take risks and develop their own individuality. A celebration of children’s final pieces can be seen on display around school.
