Music
Everyone should have opportunities to have active engagement with high quality music making activities.
High quality music education enhances listening skills, aural processing and memory skills; it develops phonological awareness aiding literacy skills. It has been proven to enhance attainment across school subjects and has a positive impact on IQ and helps to develop spatial reasoning impacting on mathematical development. Psychological well-being is improved as it reduces stress and anxiety.
When teaching music, we will focus on four main strands:
Performing
Composing
Transcribing
Describing
We will nurture a love of music, develop creativity and increase self-confidence.
