Dear Parents/Carers,
I am writing with an important update about our after‑school provision (breakfast club is not affected).
As you will remember, we partnered with KRS in September 2025 to extend our wraparound offer until 5:45pm. Despite our best efforts to promote and grow the provision, take‑up has remained low and the arrangement is running at a significant financial loss. After careful consideration with governors, we cannot continue to subsidise the later service.
With effect from the start of the autumn term (September 2026) the arrangements will be:
School‑led wraparound care will continue on the school site but will finish at 4:30pm each day. This will be led by Reignhead Primary staff and will be chargeable at £4 per session. These sessions will start the first week back at School.
KRS will continue to run our previously popular after‑school clubs (for example: multi‑sports, gymnastics and football). These KRS clubs will also finish at 4:30pm and will be charged at £4.50 per session. These sessions will start the second week back at School – week commencing Monday 7th September.
I know this change will inconvenience some families and I am very sorry for that — we simply cannot sustain the loss of running the later provision. We hope the 4:30pm finish will still meet the needs of most families who require after‑school childcare; if it causes exceptional difficulty for your household, please contact the school office so we can discuss individual circumstances and signpost local alternatives where possible.
What you need to do now
If you would like to book either the school‑led wraparound or one of the KRS after school clubs (both 4:30pm finish, £4 per session for School led wraparound, £4.50 for KRS after-school clubs), please follow the appropriate link below which will take you to the relevant booking form. Afterschool clubs will be subject to a limited number of children.
