Dear Parents/Carers,
As part of our continued drive to place reading at the heart of the school, we will once again be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair and celebrating World Book Day at Reignhead.
Book Fair
Our popular Scholastic Book Fair will be in school from Tuesday 3rd March – Monday 9th March. The Book Fair will be open each morning in the school hall/dining room from 8:40am until 8:55am and at the end of the school day until 3:45pm. The children will also be given time during the school day to browse the ‘pop-up’ book shop. Each child will also be given a £1 World Book Day voucher, which can be put towards a book at the fair. (Please note that the Book Fair will be arriving on Tuesday 3rd March so will only be open after school on this day.)
Like last year, parents can pay for books online while they’re at the Fair. This can be done by either scanning a QR code with your phone in school or using the following link https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/pay/84584788
Cash payments will also be accepted at the Book Fair. As in previous years, if there are very popular titles that sell out, we will take payment on the day, and the book will be delivered to your child’s classroom the following week.
World Book Day
On Thursday 5th March, we will be celebrating World Book Day. All the children (and staff!) are invited to dress up as a book character and bring their favourite book into school to read and share. Throughout the day, children will celebrate their favourite authors and books and take part in multiple reading and book-based activities with their classes and friends.
Book Bag Reminder
Reading books are changed every Monday so it is essential that children remember their reading books and reading records on this day. Please remember to write a short comment in your child’s reading record –we are interested in hearing about any book, newspaper or magazine your child is reading. Listening to your child read for just ten minutes a day really does make a difference.
