Reminder - Year 4 Swimming start this Friday9 February 2026 (by admin) |
Dear Parents/Carers of Year 4 children,
This is a reminder that as part of the National Curriculum, each child in Year 4 will be receiving swimming lessons at Ponds Forge Swimming Pool beginning this Friday 13th February. They will finish on Friday 17th July 2026. The children will travel to the pool by coach and no charge will be made.
We will be leaving school at 8:25am each Friday morning and will return by break time. Children need to be in school for 8:15am.
Your child can wear their PE kit to School on Swimming Fridays.
Please note:
- Children need to bring a towel and swimming costume/trunks to school every Friday.
- Jewellery is strictly prohibited (even studs and sleepers) and any child wearing jewellery will be requested to leave the pool by the swimming instructor. Please do not let your child have any new piercings as they will not be allowed into the pool.
- Boys’ trunks must come above the knee. Tighter fitting trunks (jammers) are advisable to help prevent drag from the water and to make swimming easier.
- Girls must wear a one-piece BIKINIS are NOT allowed.
- Long hair must be tied back.
- Asthma sufferers must always take asthma inhalers onto the poolside.
THERE WILL BE NO REMINDERS OR PHONE CALLS HOME. IF YOUR CHILD HAS FORGOTTEN THEIR SWIMMING COSTUME/TRUNKS AND TOWEL THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO SWIMMING. THE BUS WILL BE LEAVING AT 8:25am, IF YOUR CHILD IS LATE THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO SWIMMING.
Thank you for your support,
