Dear parents & carers
We are aware of concerns regarding unkind behaviour between pupils on social media platforms. We would like to remind families that many social media apps, including Snapchat, have a minimum age requirement of 13 years.
While incidents may occur outside of school hours, online behaviour can have a significant impact on children's wellbeing and relationships in school. We ask for your support in speaking with your child about using social media responsibly, showing kindness online, and understanding the consequences of hurtful or inappropriate messages.
We also strongly encourage parents and carers to monitor their child's social media use, including checking privacy settings, knowing which apps they are using, and ensuring age restrictions are followed.
Working together, we can help children stay safe online and promote respectful behaviour both in and out of school.
