Reignhead Primary School

Dear Parents / Carers,

In the Spring Term we celebrate ‘Science Week’ and this year’s theme will be ‘Science is All Around’.

This is a fantastic week filled with lots of exciting, engaging, practical science experiments that enthuse and engage our children as scientists.

This academic year, it will take place from 9^th February 2025 - 13^th February 2026.

We have invited the ‘Wonderdome Planetarium’ in to school on the Thursday 12^th February to immerse our children in an outer space setting! This will not include the children in Nursery but will be from Reception to Year 6.

“Stepping into a WonderDome  planetarium you’re transported on a cosmic journey, a thrilling adventure exploring the wonders of the Universe.”

Our younger children will be exposed to planets, astronauts and rockets whilst our older children will be introduced to the sheer scale of the universe, look at how the moon moves through its phases and learn lots of facts.

The planetarium has been subsidised hugely from our science budget but to enable this external provider to come in to school and allow our children the opportunity to engage in an amazing space experience, we are asking for a contribution of £2.50 per child which can be made via ParentPay.

We are asking for the payment to be made by 31^st January to ensure we have sufficient funds to allow this fantastic experience to take place.

Thanks in advance,

Rosalind Minton
