Early Bird Week letter10 December 2025 (by admin) |
December 2025
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are pleased to announce that Early Bird Week is back and will be held next week (15th – 19th December). Previous Early Bird Weeks have proved to be a huge success and feedback from parents and children has been very positive.
As stated in previous attendance and punctuality letters, arriving at school on time is important for many reasons:
- Ten minutes late every day = 33 hours lost learning in a year
- It is harder for your child to settle into the school day and complete their learning if they have missed the beginning of the lesson
- It is unfair on the rest of the class who have already started work to be disturbed by late arrivals
- Did you know that parents can be prosecuted for their child’s lateness?
We will be greeting parents and children as they arrive at school every morning and giving EARLY BIRDS a well done stamp/sticker on their chart if they arrive in class by 8:50am. Children arriving after 8:50am will be late and will not get a stamp/sticker for that day. As usual, children arriving after 8:50am will not be able to enter their classrooms and should report to the school office, where staff will lead them to their classes.
Don’t forget, class doors will be closed at 8:50am, please make sure your child is at school by this time.
At the end of the week, children who have been on time to school every day will be placed into a class draw to receive a treat on Friday 19th December. Two children from each class will be picked for this treat.
We look forward to seeing you, on time, during EARLY BIRD WEEK.
Kind regards
Liz Dunn
