Christmas 2025 letter21 November 2025 (by admin) |
21st November 2025
Dear Parents/Carers,
We hope you are all well. We wanted to share what a positive start we’ve had to the half term. The children have settled in brilliantly and are showing The Reignhead Way in their learning and behaviour; we are so proud of the effort and enthusiasm they bring each day. We also want to say a heartfelt thank you for your continued support in getting your children to school on time. It really helps them start the day calmly and confidently. Thank you for everything you do — your support means a lot to us.
Christmas is fast approaching and we have plenty of school and community events planned over the next few weeks – please read this letter carefully as there is a lot happening! We do hope that you are able to join us for some of these events and that the children enjoy this exciting time.
Tuesday 2nd December: Christmas Book Swap Fair
The fair is after school from 3:30 – 4:15pm, in the school hall and dining room. Please send your child with the books they would like to swap by Friday 28th November. Swaps will be book-for-book, which means that if your child brings three books, they can choose three different books at the fair. On the day of the Book Swap, your child will receive a raffle ticket for each book they have brought in. These tickets can then be used to “pay” for swapped books.
In the dining room, there will be a number of stalls selling Christmas crafts and treats - all designed and created by children in each year group. There will also be a Lucky Book Dip of brand-new picture books for children to buy for £1. We hope this will be a wonderful way to discover new books to read, buy some Christmas gifts, and spread a little festive cheer! All proceeds from the fair will go towards the development of our new library.
Thursday 4th December: Beighton Lantern Parade
This is a lovely community event organised by a small group of volunteers. Reignhead children (with their parents/carers) will gather on the Key Stage 2 yard at 3:45pm. The parade will then leave school in time to arrive at the Christmas tree at 4pm at the bottom of Sothall Green. We will sing carols together and Father Christmas will switch on the Christmas tree lights! After this, everyone is invited to Crystal Peaks Church on Robin Lane where free refreshments will be served.
Please note, this is a community event. As such, your child MUST be accompanied by an adult and is your responsibility AT ALL TIMES.
If you and your child would like to take part in this event, lantern kits will be available to buy from school at a cost of just £1.00 (this is a reduced price as the kits have been subsidised by our Local Councillors Ward pot). 100 kits have been made available to Reignhead children and they will be sold on a first come, first served basis so please be quick! You should let the school know by 9:00am on Friday 28th November at the latest by purchasing a lantern on ParentPay.
Children will decorate their lanterns in small groups throughout the week during school time. However, we invite parents/carers of children in Early Years to join in and help! Please let us know if you can join us at the following times:
Wednesday 3rd December: Lantern decorating for parents/carers of children in Reception – 2pm

Thursday 11th December: Key Stage 2 Carol Singing at Crystal Peaks – 4:00pm

We only have a limited number of places, so if your child would like to be part of the KS2 choir and perform at Crystal Peaks, please email the school at enquiries@reignhead.sheffield.sch.uk (title Key Stage 2 Choir) confirming your child’s attendance by Friday 5th December at the latest. Please note, parents/carers are responsible for transporting their child to and from the event.
