Christmas Book Swap

6 November 2025 (by admin)

Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our drive to put reading at the heart of Reignhead, we would like to invite the school community to ‘The Christmas Book Swap Fair!’ on Tuesday 2nd December, after school from 3:30 – 4:15pm, in the school hall and dining room. We hope you can join us to swap books and buy some tasty treats and crafts to enjoy at home while you read.

The Book Swap
Leading up to the fair, your child can bring the books they would like to swap into school. Swaps will be book-for-book, which means that if your child brings three books, they can choose three different books at the fair.

On the day of the Book Swap, your child will receive a raffle ticket for each book they have brought in. These tickets can then be used to “pay” for swapped books.

Books must be in very good condition and brought in with parental permission, as once a book has been exchanged for a raffle ticket it cannot be returned. We ask that children bring in a maximum of six books.

Please hand books to your child’s class teacher by Thursday 27th November at the latest. Your class teacher will then exchange the books for the same number of raffle tickets on the day of the fair.

Christmas Crafts and Treats
In the dining room, there will be a number of stalls selling Christmas crafts and treats - all designed and created by children in each year group. Items for sale will include:
cones of reindeer food, hot chocolate or popcorn; bookmarks; Christmas tree decorations; gingerbread biscuits; candy canes; gift tags; and cupcakes.

Lucky Book Dip
There will also be a Lucky Book Dip of brand-new picture books for children to buy for £1. We would appreciate any donations of Christmas wrapping paper, so the books can be wrapped.

We hope this will be a wonderful way to discover new books to read, buy some Christmas gifts, and spread a little festive cheer! All proceeds from the fair will go towards the development of our new library.

Kind regards,
Mrs Dunn
Deputy Head
